Why should we even consider keeping up on our hydration in the first place? There are numerous benefits to improving hydration in your body, including:

  • Reduction in muscle cramps and spasms
  • Improved digestion and bowel movements

  • Assistance in other metabolic process’ in the body
  • Potentially losing weight

Even though we know all of these different things that keeping hydrated does for our body, individuals still struggle with this day to day. With the summer heat quickly approaching us, it would be a good idea to have some tools in our belt to help us improve water intake.

There are numerous different tips out there to improve water intake. The tip that we are going to give you today, surely isn’t for everyone. A tip that you can use to increase your overall water intake is to drink a large amount of water at one time. This may seem like a “duh” observation, but it really works. I personally am very bad at drinking water throughout the day, and often find myself getting dehydrated. One of the things I do to combat this is by drinking a very large amount of water at each of my meals. Since I am already thirsty during my meals this is an opportune time to tip back a large amount of fluid. This is much easier for me to adhere to, compared to drinking a few sips of a drink throughout the day. I will say this tactic isn’t for the faint of heart. You will have to embrace “ripping off the bandaid” and simply putting up with the mediocre taste.

Overall, this tactic helps me drink much more water throughout the day. Hopefully it helps you!
