Are Legendary Protein Poptarts Really Worth It? A Taste Test Review
Hey everyone, it’s Logan here. Today, I want to share my thoughts on these legendary protein poptarts that have been making waves in the fitness snack world. I’ve heard a lot of hype about these supposedly being on par with the original, so I decided to give them a try.
When I popped these poptarts into the toaster, they didn’t quite get that crispy texture I was expecting, compared to what happens with normal poptarts. They just warmed up a bit. Moving on to the taste, the strawberry flavor I tried initially seemed promising, with the frosting resembling that of a regular poptart a bit. However, the filling had this distinct whey protein aftertaste that didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
In terms of calorie content, these protein poptarts clock in at 200 calories per pastry, just like the classic version. Obviously, the main difference between the two is that normal poptarts have very little protein per pastry, while these have 20 grams! This is pretty incredible to be honest. Personally, though, I’d opt for a regular poptart and a half scoop of protein if I were looking to fill the protein gap that is lacking with a normal poptart.
Overall, I don’t think I’ll be reaching for these protein poptarts again unless they come with a hefty discount or are given to me as a gift. They didn’t quite live up to my expectations, especially considering their cost and caloric value.
If you’re curious to give them a shot, some of the other flavors might be better (I tried Strawberry). But for me, I’ll be sticking to my usual snacking routine for now.
Have you tried them? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks for joining me, and I’ll see you in the next one.
