What is That Thing?
If you’ve been to the gym for any period of time, you might have noticed this weird black cushion thing in the corner of the stretching area. This article, in addition to the video above, will detail exactly how to use an abmat in the gym.
Need to Get One?
If you did want to get an abmat for yourself to use at home, or bring it to the gym, I am going to link one here for you to check out.
What’s it For?
There is one big thing that the abmat is typically for, split into two separate areas. Let me explain.
Cushioning Your Tailbone

Cushioning Other Areas

Examples of this is placing it below your knee when doing lunges, or below your head if you are really crazy and trying to practice some handstand push-ups. Get creative! And use it to make any movement where you are touching boney areas to the ground more comfortable.
