Powdered Peanut Butter SHOWDOWN | PBfit vs. Great Value (Walmart)

PBfit vs. Great Value (Walmart)

In the quest for a healthier alternative to traditional peanut butter, many have turned to powdered peanut butter as a lower-calorie, lower-fat option. Today, we I put two popular brands head-to-head: PBfit and Great Value from Walmart. Let’s dive into the taste and nutrition comparison to see which one comes out on top. Check out the youtube video linked above for a video follow along!

In terms of nutrition, both PBfit and Great Value powdered peanut butter packs a similar punch. A 2-tablespoon serving of PBfit contains 60 calories, 2g of fat, 6g of carbs, and 8g of protein, while Great Value offers 50 calories, 1.5g of fat, 4g of carbs, and 6g of protein per serving. Despite a slight variance in nutrients, the calorie count is where the real difference lies, with PBfit having 10 more calories than its Walmart counterpart.

Moving on to the all-important taste test, both powders were mixed with water to create a paste for sampling. This is how powdered peanut butter can be “made” back into normal peanut butter. PBfit delivers a solid peanut butter flavor with a slightly grainy texture, similar to eating sunflower seeds or peanuts in a liquid form. On the other hand, the Great Value brand surprised me, having a similiar taste to PBfit, but ultimately edging it out slightly.

Ultimately, while the taste difference may be subtle, the price gap is significant. The affordability of the Walmart brand makes it a more appealing choice for those looking to save some dollars without compromising too much on flavor.

For those looking to try out both options and make their own verdict, we’ve included links in the description for easy access. Whether you go for the slightly pricier PBfit or opt for the budget-friendly Great Value, both powdered peanut butters offer a tasty and healthier twist to your favorite spreads.
