Xterra TR150 Folding Treadmill Unboxing, Review, & Initial Thoughts (Amazon Treadmills)

The BEST Budget Treadmill?

The Xterra Fitness TR150 treadmill might be one of the best deals on the market, for an at home treadmill that doesn’t break the bank. The video above, in addition to the brief article below, will talk about the unboxing process, and my initial thoughts of the Xterra Fitness TR150 treadmill, to help you decide if it is truly the best option for you.

Unboxing Process

The unboxing process was fairly easy for the Xterra Fitness TR150 treadmill. Initially, when the product was dropped off at my front door, I was worried about the size and heaviness of the object. Thankfully, with the help of my father, we were somewhat easily able to bring the treadmill down a flight of about 20 steps into my basement with no problem. I would highly recommend doing this with someone who is decently strong and you trust. Once you have it where you need it to be, or at least near it, you can start to unbox it. One thing I noticed when I was taking off some of the initial packaging straps, as demonstrated in the video, is that the top of the box came completely undone just after loosening the packaging straps. So be careful when transporting it, as this is not much substance to keep it together. When it come to actually taking everything out of the box, it only took me about 15 minutes by myself. There really aren’t too many parts that go together to create this thing.

Building the Treadmill

Thankfully, since there were not too many parts to the treadmill, the build itself was fairly quick and straightforward as well. It took me about 1 hour or so of putting the uprights and parts together, plugging in the electronics, and then tightening all of the screws and bolts with the tools provided with the package. The instructions given were incredibly clear, and I truly believe that anyone with even just a little bit of building savviness, will be able to handle this build no problem.

Initial Thoughts

I want to preface that I only really use my treadmill at home for walking on it. I don’t intend to run on this treadmill, nor did I run on it in the initial review. Because of that, I can’t comment on running durability. When it comes to walking, I was able to walk on this treadmill at a speed of 2 and 3 mph in the review linked above, with no problem at all. I 100% feel comfortable taking this treadmill up a notch when it comes to the speed it can go. It never felt unstable or unsecure at all. A couple of points to note about the treadmill.

  1. There is a heart rate monitor on the arms that works well.
  2. The incline on the treadmill is “manual” and can’t be adjusted electronically through the display.
  3. It can fold and lock easily in position when needed.
  4. The walkway is sort of narrow for people with a “wide” gait. (I get on it fine.)

Overall, I would highly recommend this treadmill for anyone who is starting a budget home gym, and looking to buy something to get them started. At around $400 on Amazon at the time I purchased the treadmill, I honestly feel like it’s a steal. Time will tell if it will hold up, but for now it’s smooth sailing!
