Should You Take Omega 3 Supplements?

Omega 3 fatty acids, are a common nutrient often neglected in a standard diet.

Omega 3’s provide us with numerous different benefits to our body. Some of the areas that omega 3 fatty acids help keep healthy are:

  • Heart
  • Lungs
  • Immune System

Many other areas benefit from proper Omega 3 consumption as well. Without proper amounts of Omega 3’s, health, specifically in these areas, will greatly diminish.

Where can you find omega 3 fatty acids? There are many great sources for this nutrient, including:

  • Fish and other seafood
  • Certain nuts and seeds
  • Some plant oils (flaxseed, and soybean oil)
  • Foods fortified with omega 3’s
  • Seaweed

If you are considering taking an Omega 3 supplement through a pill, it would be recommended to talk to your doctor or dietician before doing this.

Next time you go to the store, try to grab some different sources of omega 3’s. Your body will thank you!
