Nordic Hamstring Workout
The Nordic hamstring curl is an effective exercise that targets the hamstrings, glutes, and lower back. While typically performed using a partner or a specialized machine, you can also modify the exercise using a lat pulldown machine at the gym. In this blog post, we will guide you through the steps to correctly perform a Nordic hamstring curl on a lat pulldown machine.
Step 1: Set Up
- Adjust the thigh pad of the lat pulldown machine to a height that allows you to place your heels against the bottom of thigh pad comfortably.
Step 2: Starting Position
- Stand facing away from the lat pulldown machine with your back toward it.
- Position yourself on the butt pad, ensuring your knees are resting against it.
- Place your heels securely against the thigh pad, with your toes pointing downward
Step 3: Performing the Nordic Hamstring Curl
- Slowly lower your torso toward the ground, moving away from the lat pulldown machine.
- Engage your core and maintain a straight line from your head to your heels throughout the exercise.
- Control the movement and focus on using your hamstrings to pull yourself back up to the starting position.
- Continue the exercise, performing the desired number of repetitions.
